Banana Leaf Curry Night
Saturday 6th June, 7pm, North Wraxall Hall SN14 7AF
If you live in the countryside like us, you’ll know the feeling: when you want something truly exciting or novel to eat, you’re faced with a long drive... or a takeaway. Finding food that’s local, authentic and genuinely delicious isn’t always easy.
So for one night only, we’re bringing the feast to you. Join us for a rural, authentic supper club — cooked by locals, for locals — celebrating the bold and vibrant flavours of India.
Chefs Sara Hooton (Asian cookery teacher and Everhot chef) and Charlie Salter (founder of SupperSub and private chef) will cook a myriad of freshly made dishes, created exclusively for this special evening.
To Begin: South Indian ‘65 Style’ Starters
Fiery red, bite-sized and utterly addictive. These iconic starters are alive with ginger and garlic, lifted with cooling yoghurt and finished with a squeeze of lime. Bold, bright and impossible to stop at one...
Your Banana Leaf Feast
You’ll be served your own banana leaf plate with an array of dishes for you to dive into:
Mysore Lamb
Slow-cooked until meltingly tender and coated in a thick, fragrant sauce. Rich, complex and luxuriously spiced with hard-to-find flavours.
Chettinad Masala Chicken
From the hot, arid region of Tamil Nadu, this is a powerhouse of freshly roasted whole spices, black pepper and chilli — deep, fiery and unforgettable.
Vegetable Dhal
Creamy and comforting with a gentle sweetness from cabbage and seasonal vegetables. Light, nourishing and beautifully balanced.
Malabar Prawn Curry
Succulent prawns in a coconut sauce with bright tang and aromatic spices — vibrant, silky and full of Keralan coastal sunshine.
Plus generous sides
An abundance of fragrant rices, fresh breads, poppadoms, chutneys and sambals to complete your feast.
To Finish
As the midsummer sun sets behind the hall, enjoy a refreshing palate cleanser and dessert
Mango Kulfi
Sweet, aromatic ice pops with a melt-in-the-mouth, fudgy texture — packed with ripe mango and the perfect end to a summer feast.
